There are a lot of films that hold a special place in my heart that were never nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards. My preferences tend toward science fiction and fantasy, though I can also enjoy a good comedy. Unfortunately, the academy often overlooks these genres when they hand out awards. They may get Oscars for technical achievements, but are rarely considered for the top prize. So I though it would be a good idea to give them some recognition, if only because they are the movies that fire my imagination and tickle my funny bone.
